Employees, board members, volunteers and even members. These are the dedicated people who understand the values and cooperative spirit by which credit unions work and do business. These people (we’re looking at you!) deeply believe in the credit union philosophy and work to further the reach of our movement. And each of us has a reason and/or a story that demonstrates our love of credit unions.
Voluntary membership, democratic member control and concern for community are just a few of the cooperative principles that credit unions live by, and reasons why our movement resonates in the hearts of so many. From being difference makers in our communities to helping a family buy their first home or a local business get started, our institutions touch the lives of those in our communities.
Now it’s time to recognize the positive impact of credit unions and share it with the world! We and many other CUs are uniting together on Friday, July 30, 2021, for the #ilovemycreditunion social media campaign created by the Illinois Credit Union League. It’s time to stand side-by-side with this one-day campaign to generate social media conversations about the work that credit unions do and how we leave lasting impressions on our communities. During this campaign, we will stimulate “authentic and high-energy conversations” by sharing our reasons and stories for why we love credit unions!
And the best news is, you and your members can join us! All you have to do is share your credit union stories to bring awareness to credit unions and our work within the community on your social media pages (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn) under the hashtag #ilovemycreditunion!
There is even a resource hub available to your credit union! Here, you will find customizable materials to help you involve your members, staff and volunteers. You’ll also find everything you need to plan for the event!
Don’t wait – get all the details about this event and get ready to post your stories on social media with #ilovemycreditnunion on Friday, July 30, 2021!
