Do you remember that feeling of anticipation as a child that you’d develop in the days leading up to your birthday? You know, the feeling where your heart would swell with excitement and the days felt like they would never end. That’s the exact same feeling I have right now, as I’m patiently waiting for one of my favorite days of the year - #ILoveMyCreditUnion day! Just thinking about it fills my heart with that same child-like anticipation. Now, don’t get me wrong, I always welcome the opportunity to talk about my love for credit unions and how we’re changing the lives of our members with each interaction, but on #ILoveMyCreditUnion day, I get to share that same excitement with others across the globe while simultaneously bringing awareness to credit unions and the work we do.
Last year, Vizo Financial participated in the #ILoveMyCreditUnion day social media blitz that reached over 22 million people across the world, and I’m thrilled that we’re participating again for the second year in a row. The goal for this year is to reach 30 million people, and with your help, I know we can!
In case you didn’t participate last year, #ILoveMyCreditUnion day is a day for us to “toot our own horn,” so to speak, and share how we impact our members on social media using the hashtag - #ILoveMyCreditUnion. It’s a day for us to celebrate and encourage our employees, members, families and friends to take to social media and share their stories about why they love credit unions too!
So, whether you’re a credit union, CUSO, league, board member or volunteer, I invite you to join us on July 29, 2022, to raise awareness about the great things we’re doing as credit unions. Share stories about how your credit union is impacting its members or being a difference maker in your community. Or even share your own personal story about why you chose to pursue a career at a credit union. It doesn’t matter what you choose to share or how you choose to participate, just that you do because the goal is simple really…to bring more awareness to credit unions and our commitment to furthering our movement.
All you have to do is head over to any and every social media channel you have (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, etc.) on July 29 and post using the hashtag - #ILoveMyCreditUnion. And just like last year, there’s a resource hub where you can find graphics for social media that you can personalize for your credit union, messaging templates, ideas on how to engage your members and employees and so much more!
