Banding Together on #ILoveMyCreditUnion Day!
In the same way that an orchestra performs a symphony, or a choir sings a melody, credit unions are advocates within our communities, finding harmony and rhythm in the ways we serve others. And while we don’t often seek out recognition and harp on our successes, next week, we’ll have the opportunity to change that!
On Friday, July 25, we can come together, and raise our voices louder (a crescendo, if you will), as we commemorate our success stories over the past year for #ILoveMyCreditUnion Day!
Let Our Voices Be Heard on July 25!
The mission of #ILoveMyCreditUnion Day is to share all the reasons why we love our credit unions. During this important day for our movement, we can reflect and celebrate our accomplishments, identify the ways we’ve made a positive impact (and will continue to do so!) and evaluate areas for future improvement.
I’m not suggesting that we need to start singing solos or belting the high notes on a regular basis but by offering each other a compliment or recognition for a job well done, we are to setting the tempo for a cooperative concerto! By taking the time to connect and collect our thoughts, we’re creating metaphorical music in our movement, generating good energy and sustained momentum, as we look to the work ahead.
Strength in Numbers – Ways to Strike a Chord
There are more than 4,500 credit unions in the United States. Think about how big an impact we can have on communities around the country and throughout the world if join in harmony on July 25. We could sell out concert stadiums and create a whole lot of awesome noise! So, let’s band together and let our voices be heard! We can share our stories, recognize our differences, highlight our values and track our overall impact…together! After all, we’re a community with the same goal – people helping people.
How Will You Sing Your Stories?
A great way to start preparing for your celebrations is by gathering meaningful success stories. Whether you helped a young couple buy their first home, gave a business in your community a boost or offered financial literacy programs for students, there’s a story to be told (or even sung…in a major key)!
Now is a great time to start thinking of the stories you want to share with your network. I’m enjoying working with my team to record some of our wins throughout the year. I hope you find joy in the process too!
